Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
This policy covers steeringmarketing.com, run by Steering Marketing ("we", "us"). It explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We wrote it in plain English on purpose.
What we collect
- What you send us. When you fill out our contact form: your name, business name, phone, email, what your business does and, if you add it, your website.
- How you found us. The page you sent the form from, the site that linked you here, and campaign tags in the link (like
utm_source). - Bookings. If you book a call, Cal.com collects your name, email and the time you pick.
- Payments. If you pay, Stripe collects your payment details on its own checkout page. Your card number never reaches our servers. We get your name, email, what you bought and whether it went through.
- Usage. Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits, pages viewed, device type and rough location (city level). We use it to see which pages help people.
How we use it
- To answer you, send the instant confirmation email, and follow up about your request.
- To set up and deliver the service you buy.
- To understand which pages and campaigns work, so we can improve the site.
- To keep records the law requires, and to prevent fraud and spam.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who helps us run the site
These service providers handle data for us, under their own privacy and security terms: Vercel (hosting), our database provider, Resend (email), Google Analytics (usage stats), Cal.com (booking) and Stripe (payments). If you text or call us once we have a phone line, our phone provider handles those messages.
Content and messages
We use software tools to help draft text and images for this site and for the work we do for customers, and to help sort the messages you send us. A person checks everything before it goes out.
How long we keep it
We keep contact-form messages for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, and customer and payment records as long as tax and accounting rules require. Then we delete them.
Your choices and rights
- You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Write to our contact form. We answer within 30 days.
- Depending on your state (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others), you may have more rights. We honor them for everyone, wherever you live, and we will not treat you differently for using them.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser, or use Google's opt-out add-on for Analytics.
- You can unsubscribe from any marketing email with the link in that email.
Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, keep secrets out of our code, and limit who can see your data. No system is perfect, so we can't promise perfect security.
Children
This site is for business owners. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. Big changes get a clear note on this page.
